After
a decade working in advertising, Jen Worth decided to make her part-time
training career a full-time dream. Jen combined her love of dogs
with another talent, helping people.
Upon moving to the San Francisco Bay Area, Jen began volunteering at the
SF/SPCA. Jen loved working
with shelter dogs and especially dogs with behavior challenges. Her dedication
as a SF/SPCA volunteer earned her the honor of Volunteer of the Month in
January 1999.
Jen is among the first graduates of the San Francisco SPCA’s Academy
for Dog Trainers. The
Academy is rapidly gaining a reputation as the “Harvard for Dog Trainers”.
Jen studied under renowned behavior expert Jean Donaldson, author
of “The Culture Clash”. She earned a Certificate in Training and
Counseling, and graduated with honors from the SPCA’s program.
Jen is a firm believer of continuing education and furthers her knowledge
of dog behavior by attending various workshops on dog training. She is
a member of the Association of Pet Dog Trainers.
Additionally, in 2002 Jen attended a 40 hour Operant
Conditioning Workshop with Bob Bailey, one
of the forefathers in operant conditioning.
Jen has been active in Rottweiler Rescue, and has helped evaluate, train
and foster homeless Rottweilers. While no longer active in rescue work,
Jen believes in giving back to the community by donating her time at local
shelters. Jen is owned and loved by her two Rottweilers, Milo and Luna.
